About Our Materials

 

We strive to use the finest quality materials to craft so that your Bits of Bali Jewelry piece can be treasured forever. We use only genuine, high quality cut precious stones, semi-precious stones and 7A quality Cubic Zirconia crystals on our products. All of our pieces are made of hypoallergenic 925 sterling silver and very thick 18 carat gold vermeil. We also use 14 carat and 18 carat solid gold in some pieces and also custom orders.

 

STERLING SILVER

Sterling silver is a silver metal that is mixed with various other alloys/metals (usually copper) denoted by the number (often stamped onto jewelry items) 925. This basically means that 925 parts of 1000 is silver, and the remaining 75 parts is alloy. In other words, 92.5% silver and 7.5% alloy. Pure 100% silver is not desirable to jewelry manufacturers as it is very soft. Therefore, we produce more durable silver known as sterling silver.

 

GOLD VERMEIL

Gold vermeil (pronounced: ver-may) is sterling silver that has been gold-plated. After so many trial and tests here in our workshop in Bali, we are exceptionally proud to present our 18 carat gold composition recipe that creates the beautiful gold color that is flattering on any skin tone. Our gold plating standard is very thick and is finished off with another layer on top that significantly prolongs the life of the gold vermeil jewelry for years to come.
